Double Page Spread (Final Magazine)
This is the double page spread of my main magazine. The main
image features a BMW i8 this is the in-depth review of the i8, which will
answer the question and give information that the front cover is unable to
give. The image is a wide shot that has been cropped so the main component is
packed in one place, the sky is white which links it to the front cover and
contents page this use of repetition is to give a more powerful impact to the
reader. The car door is also open this give a impression that its open for
anyone to drive, so it means the car is easy to drive, the open doors also cure
for curiosity of people who are wondering how the door is open, and the reason
the two doors are open is because it looks nicer. You can also see the women
leaning on the door this show the feel of ownership that she owns the car and
with her right hand on her waist this gives the impression that she is proud to
have this car and this car helps improve her social status. The reason I kept
the background is because this is to show how would look if its use as a daily
basis mean of transport, how it stands out from the crowd. The mast head is
slanted with gives an impression of speed and its there to like it with the
front cover, the mast head “HYBRID SPEEDSTER” its in caps because it there to
grab attention of the reader and to show the importance of it in that page, the
first word “HYBRID” is in blue and in a simpler font this is because blue is
the give the impression of a eco friendliness and the simple font is to show
its smoothness and calmness of nature, and the word “SPEEDSTER” in in black and
crooked that is because black symbolize power, dominance and confidence, and
the reason that the text is crooked/shattered is because to show that its fast
powerful which contrast with the first word. “Imperfection is the beginning of
Perfection” this is sort of a motivation phrase this makes the reader feel that
its alright to be imperfect if you never experience imperfection how can you
know what perfection is.
The article is about the BMW i8 it gives the brief detail of
the car and the reason it stands out from ordinary car, and also facts and
figure with a speech from the owner of the car. On the bottom right corner you
can see a small phrase from the owner to summarize his speech it, the word
“Power” and ”Supercar” is in red because it symbolize power, strength, speed,
fire etc.
The bottom left has the picture of the interior of the car
taken with a wide lens to show the maximum component in a single shot this is
to help reader imagine how would it be like if they are in the car (Blumler and
Katz, Diversion)
Contents Page (Final Magazine)
This is a contents page as u can tell, but the layout of the
page its different from the front cover and double page spread, the reason its
different because contents is like the spine of the book it hold the
information of each important pages in the magazine, this is the reason why my
contents page is leaning to a more luxurious style this gives a more mature
feel to it since this magazine is not meant for children so not every page will
be young a modern, some has to be more to the grown up side so the magazine
doesn’t look immature to the eyes of the reader. The fonts are more formal as
you can see as well as the number. The main image of this contents page is a
Mercedes Benz CLA 250 this is the new car that Mercedes has release the same
year as the BMW i8. The reason I use this car is because it’s the first front
wheel drive Mercedes and the benefit from having a front engine is that it has
more horse power, due to the fact that the car doesn’t need to link to the back
wheel, by having a front engine and a rear wheel drive this would cost them
horse power because its not 100 percent efficient. The house colour links by
the sky due to all the skies is white. For this image the background is blurred
because the future has not been written and since this shot is taken in low
angle rear view of the car this means its moving forward, for Mercedes to make
a front wheel drive car its like another step into the future, so this gives us
the impression that what is going to happen next they need to find out. This image
is fit to be a contents page in my point of view is because the image is not to
revealing but tells enough information to guess what is happening, like the
contents on the contents page.

Front cover (Final Magazine)
This is my final front cover for my car magazine. This magazine is aiming for the new faces of motorsports(new generation of people), by introducing a hybrid supercar. Therefor the theme here will be leaning to the side of modern and simplicity, Lets start of with the main image this is the image of the side of the BMW i8 this is to keep part of the car conceal so you have to look more to see what else has been hidden by the camera angle. The shot has been taken in a slightly low angle this is to give a impression that the car is not a typical mundane car you see everyday, and you can also see a women siting inside the car, people generally think that women is inferior to men, but when she is in this car, even men is inferior to her so this gives us the impact that this car would change you life even if you are a women. In addition women are not known to like complex hard to control cars but when you see her in this this shows that this car is fairly easy to drive. On the back side of the car you could see the reflection of a old boring looking building and shown that she has left it behind by the use of reflection and the tall good looking building is the place she is moving towards. These points link to the "Blumler and Katz" Diversion because people would think if they were to be in the car what they could do. The sky is white as u can see, if you are wondering why i don't make it blue and lovely this is because i wanted to show the cruel reality we are in now instead of putting a blue lovely skies which hardly exist now without editing the photos, white skies means theres a lot of smoke pollution produce these days due to typical engine cars so thats we should turn to use hybrid cars and since normal hybrid cars won't satisfy people due to its slowness, boring, and stupid looking people tend to dislike, so this sport hybrid car would be like a hand extending out of the front cover to slap people who walk by and tell them hybrid cars are not slow and boring anymore and the ability to help to save the earth. About the mast head its slanted upwards to show the speed and power that is rising and the end of the "E" touching the top part of the building is to show that this magazine is above all starting from car to the building so the content in here is believable the ascending is also to show the the ascending in lifestyle as well, since people want a better like want their like to be better so they should look in this magazine, the reason its in black is because the car is black and black shows us the contrast which implies that the magazine is on the top clearly visible and know what they are doing with confidence. The layout of the text under the mast head is also ascending up like the mast head this is to say that the other content of this magazine can also improve your life style, adding two newly release car also give the reader the impression that the magazine is up to date with also give an impression to the reader that this magazine is active and always find new cars to post so the reader could be up to date and be able to talk to his or her friends with confidence, the reason is grey is because it won't attract too much attention from the main image and the red plus sigh is just a small attention attractor just to make the reader acknowledge that theres a text there with the minimal distraction. The sell lines align to the car is all in caps lock like the mast head this is because it show the level of importance including the font size, the "NEW" is in red because it to attract attention and to show that its new in flames etc... The "i8" is in blue because its a a hybrid car so blue is like electrical current, water, something nature friendly and it fits with the car blue part that is why i did not use green, if you look carefully the "i8" is in the shade of the car this is to tell that this car is eco friendly. I use shade of the car because the car is hybrid which would save the earth which would mean more trees this is just a simple way of looking at it because this is not an A level science. Lastly the house colour, i decide to mention this in the last paragraph is because you have to read about the small points first and you can see the big picture later, the house colour for this magazine will be base on black, blue and red. black is mainly to show the dominance and blue is to show that is eco friendly and red to show its power. Finally the barcode this is to show that its a proper again.

Choosing my Contents and Double Page Spread
i came up with the contents with more confident since it would be a single image with matching house colour with my screen so I came up with this.My double page was focus on one single car and this is the best photo i got from my album.
